Mamata Banerjee, affectionately known as ‘Didi‘, is an Indian politician who is the current Chief Minister of the state of West Bengal in India. She is the 8th Chief Minister to hold this position. Mamata Banerjee was born to Promileswar Banerjee and Gayatri Devi in Kolkata, West Bengal. Her father passed away when she was just 17.
